Bandar Malaysia is a mixed-use urban development that will catalyse the transformation of Greater Kuala Lumpur. Strategically located within seven kilometres of Kuala Lumpur City Centre (KLCC), the development will serve as Kuala Lumpur’s gateway. Bandar Malaysia is an innovative new city scale development that will manage, formalise and propel future growth in Kuala Lumpur while setting a new benchmark for sustainable design and planning in the region. The 196 ha development site, which sits on the former Sungai Besi Airforce Base, is the largest single development site in Malaysia, and provides a unique opportunity to create a compact, complete and connected neighbourhood that is people-centric, liveable and sustainable. It is envisioned as a place of many characters with seven distinct districts. The proposals by Broadway Malyan, which have been developed on behalf of Bandar Malaysia Sdn Bhd – a subsidiary of the Malaysian Government’s Ministry of Finance, will create an exemplar, dense new mixed-use district, serving as an exciting new gateway to Kuala Lumpur with two planned high speed rail links.
