East-West Lumber Sdn Bhd (“EWL“) is a startup which has developed a new proprietary RAPID-DRY fast drying and other timber treatment, enhancement and processing techniques. These new treatment protocols add positive properties and enhancements and are focused on planted / renewable timber species. They have the BEST timber drying facility in the whole of Borneo island. The technology will transform lumber from lower density species to a lumber that will comply or better the Durability 3 standard. Products will range from decking to truck and container flooring, furniture, components, jointed timber pieces and paneling. They offer three main grades of products: HTD, Thermowood, and Durawood. They have sawmill, pressurised impregnation chamber (P.I.T), heat treatment, moulding, wood chipping, and rapid prototyping/product testing facilities.
