QUANTUM SOLAR PARK MALAYSIA SDN. BHD.

Quantum Solar Park Malaysia Sdn Bhd is the parent company of Quantum Solar Park (Semenanjung) Sdn Bhd (QSP Semenanjung). QSP Semenanjung owns and operates three 50MW solar power plants located in Gurun, Kedah; Jasin, Melaka; and Merchang, Terengganu. QSP Semenanjung is the largest solar power producer in the country with a combined capacity of 150MWac. The project is located in Malacca, Malaysia. The project construction commenced in 2017 and subsequently entered into commercial operation in May 2019. The equity partner is Quantum Solar Park Malaysia, and lenders are CIMB and Maybank as Joint Lead Arrangers of the Sukuk Green Bond. The project holds a 21-year PPA with Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB). Scatec was selected to render EPC services for the solar PV power project. The project generates 94,000MWh electricity and supplies enough clean energy to power 31,000 households, offsetting 70,000t of carbon dioxide emissions (CO2) a year. The project cost is $126.422m. The fixed-sum EPC contracts have been awarded to Scatec Solar Solutions Malaysia Sdn Bhd (Scatec Malaysia). QSP Semenanjung’s three solar power plants are scheduled to achieve commercial operation date (COD) concurrently on December 31, 2017 upon completion of the 10-month construction programme.
